Below are the current programs available from the Chamber. Please contact our offices with any questions or concerns that you may have.

The EDC, developed and managed by the African American Chamber of Commerce of Central Pennsylvania, under the Direction of Dellanor Young will open new avenues of  opportunity and resources that are not currently available to minority and women-owned business owners in the Harrisburg and the surrounding areas.

This EDC located within the City of Harrisburg, provides a wide array of management training, business development, capacity building, technical and financial assistance as well as offering business incubator services to current and prospective small business owners.  The Center will offer one-stop assistance to individuals and small business by providing a wide variety of information and guidance at a centralized location.

The program will be a cooperative effort between advocacy groups for minority businesses, the educational community, as well as business and civic leaders throughout Harrisburg. This effort will enhance economic development by increasing the number of successful minority and woman owned businesses in the city, making the city more attractive for large corporations who must adhere to federal guidelines for minority participation. This effort will also increase the pool of minority businesses that are eligible to procure federal, state and local contracts.

This EDC is equipped with a state-of-the-art computer lab available daily for internet access.
Classes have been held on small business accounting on Quick Books Pro, How to Develop a Banking  Relationship, Basic Computer Workshop, and Know Your Credit Rating. Future classes will include hands-on computer training, construction training, How to Develop a Web page for your Small Business, Financial Planning for Small Businesses How to Develop a Business Plan and other business workshops. We will continue to develop classes that may offer turnkey information for a small startup business, and other future amenities and services on an as-needed basis for a nominal fee.  Additional networking opportunities will be available through workshops and seminars that will enhance business expertise, financial management, and business development designed to increase the knowledge and proficiency on how to start and run a successful business.

We are excited about this endeavor and we look forward to your involvement and input.  For more information, please call our office at (717) 238-9804.
